REDEFINE: Curatorial and Artistic Practices in the South East

Redefined and new artistic and curatorial practices based on local regions speak of how fresh dynamics of dialogues emerge with audiences. Locally embedded ideas emerge to create new ways of understanding and viewing art, throwing light on how regional influences bring forth the occurrence of unique formats of art production. The articles in this issue consider the practice of artists and curators of the South East. Together they weave a perspective of how art takes upon new roles and positions, impacting their respective societies in myriad ways. Through the eyes of curators are seen the emergence of community-oriented and society-centered curatorial ideas, whilst artists explain how their works have been influenced by local culture and impacts local narratives. The two interviews offer possibilities and nuances of art/culture in India.
